Menzerna 480W is a fast-acting finishing paste with especially adapted bonding, producing a beautiful gloss on brass surfaces. On aluminum, testers indicated it produces a very clean finish and may be better suited to high-humidity environments and certain (softer) aluminum alloys than the standard aluminum finishing compound, 480BLF, especially in combination with P164. Spectrum recommends pairing this compound with medium-firmness buffs like our secondary cut/colour buffing wheels and soft buffs like our mirror finishing buffing wheels.

480W Finish is recommended by Menzerna as the last step in a two-stage polishing process. Bring your work to a high gloss finish by following up with Menzerna 480W Finish. Additional polishing steps can add additional clarity. Although P14F Medium Cut and 480BLF are recommended as the standard aluminum compounds by Menzerna, we find that P164 Medium Cut and 480W Finish pair extremely well on softer aluminum alloys. Menzerna suggested processes for: brass.
