800 Grit, B-weight paper with extra-thick velour backing, open coat design, and two coats of stearate anti-loading agent make this economic paper efficient and effective. Thick backing is less likely to tear during high-speed rotary sanding, and top-quality hook & loop means quick and easy removal of spent discs. Made in Canada!
Pairs with: Firm Backing Pad, Soft Hook & Loop Sanding Interface, Soft Hook & Loop Sanding Interface (Extra-Thick)
Storage: Store discs flat between 10°C to 25°C (50°F to 77°F) and humidity level of 40% to 60% ensure performance. Typical shelf life is 1 year but adhesives can start to dry out after 6 months so please use your oldest discs first.
Typically, Spectrum suggests sanding metal no higher than 600 grit as Menzerna's universal metal polishing compounds (439T Heavy Cut & P14F Medium Cut) are rated to cut out up to 280 and 320-400 grit sanding marks, respectively). For a cut-stage polish on stainless steel, consider using a sisal wheel to remove sanding marks more efficiently than a standard cotton buffing wheel.
I’ve tried Norton Gold, Starcke, PB273. Spectrum’s paper is top notch. Theres something about their 600 grit paper that cleans up like no other 600 grit paper in its competitive class. I always come back to Spectrum’s products even though I don’t polish often. When I do polish, I always use Menzerna and Spectrum products as I expect the best results.
Honestly works great especially for finishing on aluminum its a perfect grit and the sand paper it self i find lasts a while when used correctly and leaves excellent results
Just wish they came in a box instead of wrapped in plastic
Hi Rui,
Thank you again for your feedback on our 3' discs. We agree its not ideal that our supplier produces their 3' discs without boxes, but unfortunately their other customers don't require it and adding boxes just for us (in a diameter we sell relatively few discs in) would add significantly to the cost of these smaller discs. Regardless, we'll continue to evaluate the viability of adding this in the future! Thank you for being a long time (3+ years now!) user of our sanding discs.
Kindest regards,
Chris Drinkwater, GM
